The weakness of the health care system causes several deaths within the population that could be prevented by providing more prevention care. The WHO considers that at least 80% of premature heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes, and 40% of cancer could be prevented through healthy diet, regular physical activity and avoidance of tobacco products [1].
There were 12 000 [2] disabled in 2005 due to work-related injuries and occupational diseases in Kazakhstan (i.e 3% of the total).
