Logistics
- There are 15 airports in the country. 13 only present paved runways : 7 between 2,438 and 3,047 m, 2 between 1,542 and 2,437m, 3 between 914 and 1,523 m and 1 under 914 m. Cyprus has a total of 9 heliports.
- The roadways are of 20,006km. 13,006 km are controlled by the government with almost 8,564km of paved route and 2,277km of expressways. 7,000km are also controlled by the Turkish Cypriot. The merchant marine is composed of 838 elements in total.
- Major ports in the area under government control are Larnaca, Limassol, Vasilikos. The major ports in the area administered by Turkish Cypriots are Famagusta and Kyrenia.
Communication:
- There are more mobile phones than fixed lines. The first presents 95% of subscription with a total of 1,1 million, the latter presents 28% with a total of 330,000 land lines. The telephone system is generally assessed to be excellent in both area under government control and area administered by Turkish Cypriots.
- The domestic telephone system is mainly open-wire, fiber-optic cable and microwave radio relay. For the international phone system, the country code is 357 except for the Turkish administered area which uses the country code of Turkey, 90. The international phone system includes a number of submarine cables, including the SEA-ME-WE-3, are combined in order to provide connectivity to Western Europe, the Middle East and Asia. It also includes satellite earth stations with a total number of 8: 3 Intelsat, 1 Atlantic Ocean and 2 Indian Ocean, 2 Eutelsat, 2 Intersputnik, and 1 Arabsat. It is also composed of tropospheric scatter.
- The broadcast media is a mixture of state and privately run TV and radio services. The public broadcaster operates 2 TV channels and 4 radio stations. There are also 6 private TV broadcasters, satellite and cable TV services including telecasts from Greece and Turkey as well as a number of private radio stations which are available on the island.
- In areas administered by Turkish Cypriots, there are 2 public TV stations, 4 public radio stations and privately owned TV and radio broadcast stations.
- Regarding the radio broadcast stations itself, 1M5, FM76 are areas under government control. As for the stations concerning the area administered by the Turkish Cypriots there are AM1 and FM20. Regarding television broadcast stations, there are 8 in the area under government control, and only a quarter in the area administered by Turkish Cypriots (2).
- Internet users are of a total of 738,900, making a total of 63% of the population.
